The Rise of Microinfusion
Microinfusion is a minimally invasive treatment that can be done from the comfort of your own home, and is currently spreading like wildfire on social media. Skincare companies are scrambling to get in on this new trend; as well as influencers to endorse them, and release their own infusion kits.
what is it & what does it do?
Microinfusion is a form of microchanneling. It’s a similar idea to microneedling, but uses ultra-fine needles at a more superficial depth. The needles, finer than your peach fuzz, create microscopic channels on the skin’s surface, aiding in product absorption and triggering a healing response.
The healing response triggers collagen and elastin production on a milder level than microneedling, but comes with less trauma or downtime.
Microinfusion focuses on product absorption, channeling a targeted serum deeper than topical application. The active ingredients absorb where they are most effective, and often offer an immediate glow.
Microinfusion can offer instant radiance, increased hydration, more refined skin texture and a more even skin tone. Redness; known as erythema, may occur but should subside quickly.
This is a treatment you could add to your weekly routine for an increased “glass skin” effect. Results are immediate, and can last for a few days, but it is important to note that this won’t replace your daily skincare routine. These home kits will also not offer the progressive results that professional treatments would. It’s important to understand the capabilities and limitations of the products we buy, especially when we are sold to constantly.
Most people could use and benefit from microinfusion, but it should always be seen as an addition to the skincare journey you are already on.
